The 5 Fundamental Soloing Courses

The 5 Fundamental Soloing Courses are designed to PROVE to any aspiring lead guitarist just how easy it is to sound good while improvising.

Here's how it works:

1.) Grab your guitar

2.) Work through the courses in order, jamming along with the Video Backing Tracks along the way

3.) Be amazed at just how good you sound immediately.

Yes, it really is that simple. All you need to do is to play in key, and you will sound good.

With the guided video backing tracks that are used in these 5 Fundamental Soloing Courses, you will be doing exactly that. The visual aids on the screen show you exactly what to play and where to play it on the fretboard in order to connect with the provided rhythm tracks.

14 Mini-Courses

A Mini-Course is where we focus on just one single concept that you can apply to your playing immediately. One single mini-course consists of anywhere between 1 and 20 videos, and also includes a full text version of the lesson including all of the charts and diagrams that were used in the videos.

Step-by-Step Guide to Writing a Beautiful, Melodic Solo

From a theory standpoint this solo is very simple. However because this solo focuses heavily on the underlying chords in the rhythm section, it has a very melodic sound to it.

You Only Need 2 Scales

As you will learn in the 5 Fundamental Soloing Courses, there's only really 2 scales that you need - The pentatonic scale and the diatonic scale. The solo taught in this mini-course is direct proof of this concept.

This Song was Written with Just 1 Scale and 4 Chords

You really don't need a million chords and/or scales to write an interesting piece of music. This mini-course is a perfect example of what is possible using just 4 chords and the diatonic scale of the key.

Writing a Pentatonic Solo

Not only can you do A LOT with just the pentatonic scale, you can also do A LOT in just one single position of the fretboard. This pentatonic solo w/extra melodic elements is a perfect example of this concept.

Acoustic Guitar Theory

People often ask..."Does Zombie Guitar apply to acoustic guitar?"

...and the answer is "Yes, of course!"

You can create awesome songs and solos on an acoustic guitar or an electric guitar. This mini-course shows you how it's done on an acoustic.

Solo Like a Pro in 8 Weeks

In this 8-week mini-course, you have a specific agenda to follow each week. The ultimate goal is to teach you the simplified roadmap that is used in many popular songs and solos.

Improvise Like a Pro in 8 Weeks

The formatting of this mini-course is the same as Solo Like a Pro in 8 Weeks. However this is the more advanced version as we heavily focus on the underlying chords this time, whereas Solo Like a Pro in 8 Weeks focused more on the scales.

Level up Your Soloing in 5 Weeks

In this 5-week mini-course you will learn a simplified approach to chord tone targeting/chord tone soloing. The approach used here is called the on-off method. For certain chords in the key, you just play the pentatonic scale. For other chords in the key, you target one single note that is outside of the pentatonic scale, but still part of the key.

Let's Write an Arpeggio Solo

The term arpeggio simply means to play the notes of each underlying chord in the rhythm section as the chords change. In this mini-course you will learn how to write an arpeggio based solo over a chord progression.

Minor Licks in Each Pentatonic Position

In this mini-course you are given 2 minor licks to play in each of the 5 pentatonic positions for the key of A minor. For each position, one lick uses only the 5-note pentatonic scale and the second lick uses the full 7-note diatonic scale.

Major Licks in Each Pentatonic Position

This is similar to the Minor Licks in Each Pentatonic Position mini-course, but now you are given 2 major licks to play in each of the 5 pentatonic positions for the key of C major. For each position, one lick uses only the 5-note pentatonic scale and the second lick uses the full 7-note diatonic scale.

3 Soloing Pathways

When you are soloing over a chord progression, you always have the option to take a few different pathways. This course shows you how you can take the scale path, the arpeggio path or the scale-arpeggio hybrid path.

The Scale-Arpeggio Hybrid

This is a continuation from the previous mini-course about the 3 Soloing Pathways. In this mini-course we take a deeper dive into the scale-arpeggio hybrid path.

Melodic Phrases

This mini-course gives you 71 short, melodic phrases to mix and match. Each phrase is demonstrated over a simple 2-chord progression and played at 2 different speeds. Since all of the phrases used here are played in the same key, you can combine them together in any way you want to create several different short solos.
